Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Illnesses: What My Studio is Doing

Dear Clients,

You and your families mean the absolute world to me and your personal wellbeing is my top priority! I am writing today to share my strategy to reduce the likelihood of the spread of respiratory illnesses, such as influenza, pertussis, and coronavirus, within my studio.

I want you to know that you are in the best hands! My studio is a private, appointment only studio, that is not shared with any other photographers. I always keep it clean and germ free, and I would like you to know exactly how I do that!

I follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) for updates and best practices regarding these illnesses, to limit the potential for their transmission. These measures are particularly important given the potentially vulnerable populations I serve (pregnant women, newborns, infants, and young children.) (More on this from the CDC.)

The following strategies have been implemented:

-All studio visitors (with the exception of infants) are asked to wash or sanitize hands upon entering, and I do the same. Hand sanitizer is available around the studio, please help yourself during your session. I sanitize my hands periodically, including any time I touch my face.

-I follow current CDC disinfection guidelines regarding routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces (for example: equipment, tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, carts). Cleaning with EPA-registered disinfectants occurs immediately prior to and immediately after each session.

-Washable fabric items (for example: wraps, blankets, photography props) are laundered prior to each session. Non-washable fabric and knit items are spot cleaned when necessary, and run through a 30 minute dryer cycle on high.

-Most sessions can take place at your home. If you would prefer not to come to the studio, I am happy to discuss the differences between in-home and studio sessions, so you can decide if that option could work for you.

-I always reschedule to the best of my ability whenever a client is ill. Please let me know if you are feeling sick. Clients are never penalized for rescheduling due to illness! If I am feeling ill, I will let you know as soon as possible.

Finally, I have received vaccines for both pertussis (in December, 2017) and seasonal flu (in December, 2019). There currently is no vaccine for the virus that causes COVID-19.

Thank you for trusting me with your precious babies, children and families! I cannot wait to capture even more memories for you!

XO

-Pamela
